PINCH ME. This Lummi Island Wedding was Published in PRINT in the 2021 Utah Valley Bride Magazine. Kaylie and I met years ago. She actually modeled for me as a bride for a styled shoot. I was so flattered that she chose me as her REAL WEDDING photographer. She has modeled for several other photographers and it meant so much that she trusted me to capture her special day. It was the icing on the CAKE when Utah Valley Bride featured her wedding in print in this years publication. Here are some snippets from the article:
MEET CUTE. Richie and Kaylie met as desk mates at work and became best friends turned lovers. PLANNING. They planned a small destination wedding in Lummi Island, Washington. Richie’s parents own a home on the island and so they packed up their family and closest friends for a romantic celebration. BEST BITE. The paella! Shrimp, oysters, clams, potatoes, and rice and all sorts of yummy spices and sauce cooked up in a large pan – a delicious seafood fest. VENDOR FAVE. “Summer Taylor was an absolute dream to work with. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.” ALL STAR ACCESSORY. Kaylie’s great-grandmother’s “forget-me-not” earings. Kaylie and Richie’s wedding day look was rich and romantic – from Richie’s emerald green suit to Kaylie’s classic gown. “I felt timeless.” STANDOUT DETAIL. Faux Flowers by the talented Gracefully Bloomed. LOCATION. The ceremony took place looking out over the ocean, and an evening reception was held in the rustic renovated airplane hanger.
It truly was a magical weekend. Because Lummi Island is so small with little to no food / acccomodations I spent the weekend sharing an airbnb with Kaylie’s family. I was treated like kin. Literally. The night before the wedding Richie’s parents hosted a “rehearsal dinner” if you will. It was homemade chowder served right from their home after a day hike with the bridal party. I will never forget the relationships I made over the weekend and both families have a special place in my heart. XOXO.
